Assoc Prof Dr Petra Weingerl participated in the conference of the European Society of International Law (ESIL) at the Faculty of Law of the University of Malaga, held from 3 to 5 September 2026 under the honorary presidency of Her Majesty the Queen of Spain. At the conference, Assoc Prof Dr Weingerl led a forum with eminent speakers: Alejandro Chehtman (Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University Torcuato di Tella, Buenos Aires, Argentina and Executive Director of the Latin American Society of International Law), Panos Delimatsis (Head of Department at Tilburg University, The Netherlands) and Nazila Ghanea (University of Oxford and UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief). The packed room discussed how to navigate normative tensions in international law.
