Biography:

Assistant Aljoša Polajžar is a Young Researcher and Academic Assistant at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Law. He is a PhD candidate under the mentorship of Full Professor Darja Senčur Peček, PhD – thesis title: »Collective Labour Rights of Platform Workers«. His research interests predominantly include various legal aspects of employee protection in an employment relationship (new forms of work, protection of privacy at work, collective rights, the challenges of digitization, etc.). Concerning employment relations of Civil Servants, he co-authored the commentary of the Public Employees Act (ZJU) and the Public Sector Salary System Act (ZSPJS). He is the author of numerous scientific and professional articles on Law in English and Slovenian (see COBISS and SICRIS). He is the assistant of the LeXonomica journal (WoS) Editorial board – international scientific journal for the fields of Law and Economics. He serves as the Faculty of Law coordinator of the international Moot Court and Model United Nations (MUN) competitions, which he attended as a competitor and co-mentor during his studies.

He defended his Master's thesis in 2020 (period of study 2015-2020) on the topic of employee privacy protection at the workplace in the digital era (fields of Labour law, Data Protection law, Human Rights law and EU law).
