Simplification of cross-border Debt Collection

The Institute for Civil, Comparative and International Private Law of the University of Maribor has organized this interactive conference to discuss the results of the Project on simplified judicial procedures for debt collection in the EU. The conference included short presentations and offered opportunities for discussion among those attending. Lawyers, business people and interested persons from the general public have learned from distinguished faculty professors and practitioners about recent changes in procedure designed to streamline debt collection procedures in EU countries and the actual practice in the courts applying those procedures, with special attention to the practical issues affecting the choice among various national and EU procedural alternatives.
During the Conference in Maribor the unified Slovene project European Capital of Culture took place, under which were presented number of events and interesting exhibitions.
