Kick-off Meeting in Maribor
Kick-off Meeting at the Faculty of Law, University of Maribor
On 27 and 28 June, the University of Maribor Faculty of Law hosted the Kick-off meeting of the project “EU-En4s”. The project, coordinated by the Maribor Faculty of Law, fully titled: »Diversity of Enforcement Titles in cross-border Debt Collection in EU«, addresses current issues in cross-border enforcement, especially in relation to the Brussels I Recast Regulation. The project partnership consists of 18 institutions across Germany, Austria, Sweden, Albania, Croatia, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Poland, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Cyprus and Slovenia. More than 30 experts attended the meeting.
The many visiting experts had the opportunity to present themselves, their partner institution and their work. A general overview of project activities and timeline was provided by the Maribor Faculty of Law, following the order of the envisaged work packages. Furthermore, partners already had the opportunity to discuss substantive issues and raise points of interest regarding the research problem. In this vain, partners already discussed many variables of foreign enforcement titles, using the pre-provided judgements uploaded to the project blog as an example. The Kick-off meeting set out excellent reference points for further activities.
