VESNA RIJAVEC (University of Maribor, Faculty of Law)

Prof. dr. Vesna Rijavec is the Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Maribor and the Head of the Institute of Civil, Comparative and Private International Law. Her areas of expertise are Civil Procedure, Succession, Family Law, Non-Contentious Civil Procedure and Law of Arbitration. She is a permanent arbitrator at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and a permanent court interpreter for the German language. She is the primary coordinator of various European projects and was a  judge for civil matters at the court of justice in Maribor.

 

BETTINA NUNNER-KRAUTGASSER (University of Graz)

The main objective of Univ. Prof. dr. Bettina Nunner-Krautgasser’s research is the implementation of practically adequate solutions for complex theoretical legal issues. This approach combines dogmatic substance with practical suitability and is ensured by close cooperation with legal practice as well as frequent lecturing activities. Consequently, numerous scientific opinions of Prof. Nunner-Krautgasser have been adopted in Supreme Court rulings. Prof. Nunner-Krautgasser’s research activity covers all fields of civil procedure law, comprising Austrian, European and International Civil Procedure Law, non-contentious procedure law as well as enforcement and bankruptcy law.

 

WENDY KENNETT (Cardiff University, School of Law and Politics)

Dr. Wendy Kennett works as Senior Lecturer of Law of the School of Law and Politics at Cardiff University. She completed her undergraduate study at New Hall, Cambridge and postgraduate study as a William Senior student at Clare College. Her expertise areas are international and comparative civil procedure, with a particular focus on the enforcement of judgments, international and comparative dispute resolution and the historical, cultural and structural differences between legal systems.

 

CHRISTIAN WOLF (Leibniz University Hannover, Faculty of Law)

Prof. dr. iur. Christian Wolf graduated in Law from Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich in 1985 and worked as a trainee lawyer at the Higher Regional Court in Munich. Since 2000, he has been holding the Chair for Civil Law, German, European and International Civil Procedure at the Faculty of Law of the Leibniz University of Hanover and is a founding and chief executive director of the Institute for Procedural Law and Attorney Regulation(IPA). He has been a judge at the Court of Appeal in Celle from 2001-2005.

 

 

ALEŠ KOBAL (University of Maribor, Faculty of Law)

Prof. dr. Aleš KOBAL is Associate Professor of Administrative Law, Legal Methodology, Finance and Tax Law of the Faculty of Law at the University of Maribor. He is a member of several state examiners in the field of administrative and insolvency law. During the period of tax reforms in Slovenia, he was a member of the state commissions for changing tax legislation.

 

 

TJAŠA IVANC (University of Maribor, Faculty of Law)

Prof. dr. Tjaša Ivanc is an Associate Professor of Civil Procedure of the Faculty of Law at the University of Maribor. Her areas of research are European Civil Procedure Law, Enforcement Law, Succession Law and Property Law. She is the author and co-author of several books and scientific articles and is a guest lecturer at the Portucalense Institute for Legal Research, Porto, Universidade Portucalense Infante D. Henrique. She is a coordinator of various European projects and is also an expert in the field of immovable cultural heritage on International and national levels. She cooperated with the Ministry for culture for  the drafting of the amendments on the Cultural Heritage Protection Act and is the author of the only scientific book available for this research area in Slovenia with the title ''Protection of Immovable Cultural Heritage-Legal Aspect''.

 

BOŠTJAN KEŽMAH (University of Maribor, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science)

Prof. dr. Boštjan KEŽMAH is a senior lecturer, consultant and information systems auditor, judicial expert and appraiser with 18 years of experience. He is the Active Certified Information Systems Auditor (aPRIS – Slovenian certificate), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA – international ISACA certificate) and member of the board of information systems auditors at the Slovenian Institute of Auditors. He has experience in the field of informatics and law, and he worked on many interdisciplinary projects such as Software development projects: support for the operation of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Slovenia, National Register of Wills, eZK register of the Notary Chamber of Slovenia and others.

MIRAN RODIČ (University of Maribor, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science)

Asst. Prof. dr. Miran Rodic is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Robotics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, University of Maribor. His prime fields of interest include the control of servo drives, ac drives, power electronics, and mechatronics. He is also active in the fields of electric vehicles and functional safety. His current research activities concern industrial projects, mainly from the field of automotive. Dr Miran Rodič is the coordinator of the CEEPUS AutoAuto network.

 

ELIZAVETA A. GROMOVA

Prof. dr. Elizaveta A. Gromova is Associate Professor and Deputy Director for the International Cooperation at the Institute of Law of South Ural State University. (National Research University) She is a leading researcher on several LegalTech projects: '' Legal Regulation of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Digitalization of Law and Smart Law for Smart Industry 2018-2022, Eco Legal Compliance System – ELCS – 2018-2021, Creation of the neural-based service for contract risks management and control, 2019-2021.''

 

MIHA ŠEPEC (University of Maribor, Faculty of Law)

Asst. Prof. dr. Miha Šepec is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Maribor. His field of profession is Criminal Law, Criminal Procedural Law, Cybercrime law, Administrative-penalty Law, Law of the Media and Press, and European International Criminal Law. He is also the official leader of European Justice Project JUST-JCOO-AG-2018 about European Investigation Order.

 

JAN STAJNKO(University of Maribor, Faculty of Law)

Jan STAJNKO is a Teaching and Research Assistant at Faculty of Law, University of Maribor and a member of the Institute for Criminal Law and Minor Offences. He completed his master’s degree at Faculty of Law, University of Maribor in 2016 and is currently a PhD student at Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana. He is lecturing at practical workshops (seminars) on Criminal Law, Criminal Procedural Law and Minor Offences Law at Faculty of Law, University of Maribor, as well as Media Law at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

 He is a co-author of the Great Scientific Commentary on the Special Part of the Slovene Criminal Code (KZ-1) from 2018, as well as in the upcoming Commentary on the General Part of the Slovene Criminal Code (KZ-1), to be released in 2020.

He is a member of the core research team in a number of national and international projects, for example, “European Investigation Order – legal analysis and practical dilemmas of international cooperation - EIO-LAPD” (EU DH Justice, coordinated by University of Maribor), “Whistleblowing open data impact. An implementation and impact assessment – WOODIe” (ISF Police Action Grant, coordinated by University of Torino). He was invited to hold a lecture on Piracy in International Criminal Law at Nelson Mandela University (South Africa) in 2020.

 

 

KRISTJAN ZAHRASTNIK (University of Maribor, Faculty of Law)

Assistant Kristjan Zahrastnik is a young researcher and research assistant at the Faculty of Law, University of Maribor. He obtained his master degree in 2017. He is working on his PhD in the field of civil procedure law and is a team member of various European projects on civil procedure, including ''Diversity of Enforcement Titles in cross-border Debt Collection in EU'' and ''Train to Enforce''.

 

 

MARIUS MENSAH (University of Maribor, Faculty of Law)

Dr. Mensah C. Marius is a Research Associate at the Law Faculty of the University of Maribor. He is born in Benin, completed elementary and high schools studies in Ottawa, Canada and International legal studies in Moscow. He successfully defended his PhD degree in 2015 on the regulations of the use of natural resources in West Africa under the conditions of Climate Change.  Dr Mensah has acquired extensive experience from living in multicultural societies and speaks English, French, Russian, Slovenian and two African languages. His fields of Expertise include International Law, Maritime Piracy, Migration, Environmental Law, Climate Change & Sustainable Development. He is the author of a book‘‘ECOWAS: Ecology, Nature Management, & International Law and has written more than 20 scientific articles in English, Russian and French.

 

MOJCA RAMŠAK

Dr. Ramšak was a project leader and contributor of 378 entries on Slovene ethnology, methodology and history in Leksikon etnologije Slovencev/Lexicon of Slovene Ethnology (Ljubljana 2004, second edition 2007, third edition 2011); she had published in English language encyclopedias: The Greenwood Encyclopedia of World Folklore and Folklife (2006), The Greenwood Encyclopedia of Folktales and Fairy tales (2008); The Sage Encyclopedia of Play (2009); she published at Lit Verlag, Cambridge Scholars, Springer, etc.

She had conference lectures in Europe and the USA. She was an editor or co-editor of several publications, series or journals, published in Slovenia, Austria, Italy and Slovakia: Bulletin and book series of Slovene Ethnological Society [Glasnik Slovenskega etnološkega društva in Knjižnica Glasnika Slovenskega etnološkega društva] (Ljubljana, 1994–1998, five books); Bulletin of Slovene Ethnological Society [Glasnik Slovenskega etnološkega društva] (Ljubljana, 1994–1998, fourteen numbers of the journal); Unterwegs ins Dorf (Klagenfurt, Austria, 1993–1994, two books); Mediterranean Ethnological Summer School (Piran, Slovenia, 1994–1995); Studi Slavi (Pisa, Italy, Klagenfurt, Austria, 1997); Slovene Ethnological Lexicon. (Ljubljana, 2004, 2007, 2011)

Dr Ramšak was a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal Etnolog (2003–2009, Ljubljana, Slovenia). Currently, she is a member of the editorial board of International Review of Qualitative Research (Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, 2008-) and Etnologia Slovaca et Slavica. (Bratislava, 2018-)

She is the chair of Ethical Committee at The Slovene Ethnological Society (2007-) and a member of several scientific evaluation committees in Slovenia and Europe (2007). From 2006 to 2012 she was the chair of the postgraduate study programme of Anthropology of everyday life at ISH, Ljubljana Graduate School for the Humanities.
