SUMMER SCHOOL 2020:

NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN LEGAL PROFESSIONS AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

June 21 - July 4, 2020 - University of Maribor, Slovenia

Should I stay or should I go?

As you have noticed, the dawn of the  21st century has brought with it significant challenges for mankind including, to name just two, global warming and the role in the world of the digital economy.

Today's students must be well-equipped to meet these challenges, and to confront and find creative solutions to problems still unknown and to employ technologies that at present, do not even exist.

Employers are searching increasingly for open-minded employees who have received such multidisciplinary training, and who accordingly are in a superior position to tackle the large problems society faces and will face into the future.

Our summer school is designed to help refocus the minds of  young professionals.  Some issues to be addressed include, for example,  how will modern technologies transform our professions and our social relationships in the era of big data, digitalization and virtuality? What will the future look like, and how can such technologies be regulated?

The theme of the summer school is focused on the regulatory role to be played by law in the era of big data, digitalization and virtuality. Together, we will tackle this topic of actuality and discover the correlation between legal-tech and sustainable development.
